Coach Jacob Cogswell

Assistant Coach | 14U

Jacob Cogswell joins the NEA Wildcats coaching staff for his first season, bringing recent collegiate playing experience and a strong passion for player development. Jacob began his college career at NHTI, where he was a team captain and earned Conference Pitcher of the Year honors, before transferring and graduating from Southern New Hampshire University, one of the top baseball programs in the east region. Having overcome multiple arm surgeries during his playing career, he brings valuable knowledge of the physical side of sports, including the importance of strength, recovery, and durability. Beyond his playing career, he has worked with young athletes through lessons and camps, helping players build both skills and confidence.

His coaching philosophy is simple: play the game the right way, bring a good attitude, and always work hard. Jacob emphasizes steady growth, encouraging players to embrace their strengths while improving areas of weakness. “There’s no limit to how good a player can be,” he says. “It’s about striving for small gains every day rather than expecting perfection all at once.”

Drawing from his experience as both a leader and competitor, Jacob offers perspective that helps him connect with athletes at every stage of their journey. For him, the most rewarding part of coaching is seeing players improve a little each day.

Outside of baseball, Jacob enjoys fitness, golf, and watching sports.
